You will find the splendid forest of puyas, in the Tarucani sector, Vilavila district. The place is surrounded by Puyas of Raimondi, these bromeliad plants are spread over approximately 1,500 hectares. They come in different sizes, although they can even reach 14 meters high. It is striking to see that many are apparently burned, but it is a mysterious process of self-combustion. They take four months to flower and have a growth period of up to 100 years, after which thousands of seeds sprout that allow the preservation of the species.

The immense rocks of the Tinajani canyon, about 12 kilometers from Ayaviri, in the province of Melgar. After exploring the puya forest, a walk is made among the imposing and ancient rock formations that is quite an experience. One feels relaxed and at peace, despite being surrounded by tremendous cliffs, among which the echo of screams is also heard. It is a privileged sandstone forest, part of a mountain chain formed by wind and water parallel to Lake Titicaca. The suggestive formations of the canyon are an unmissable natural spectacle that includes human figures. The view is short in this space where you can breathe fresh air.
